Antonio Conte has his sights on bringing Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij to Tottenham Hotspur, Football Insider claims.
The Italian was recently announced as Spurs new manager, replacing Nuno Espirito Santo, who was sacked on Monday.
He has reportedly been assured with transfer funds to spend in January, and Football Insider claims that De Vrij is on his radar.
De Vrij was a key player under Conte at Inter as they won the title after a decade-long wait. There are doubts over the Dutchman’s future.
The 29-year-old’s current deal with the Nerazzurri expires in June 2023, and there has been no breakthrough in contract negotiations.
Inter have financial issues to deal with, and they could cash in on his services amid his reluctance to pen an extension.
Conte is expected to go on a spending spree. There is speculation that he may have as much as £200m to bring in his own players.
Spurs were keen on landing his services earlier this summer, but decided against finalising a deal due to similar transfer demands.
