Barcelona are seriously interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek during the winter transfer window.
The Dutchman has played just over 500 minutes of Premier League football for the Red Devils since joining them last year.
He was linked with a loan move to Everton earlier this summer, but the Red Devils had no plans of sanctioning his temporary exit.
According to El Nacional, the Blaugrana are now interested in the 24-year-old, who has played under Ronaldo Koeman in the past.
Koeman was previously the Netherlands head coach, and he is reportedly keen on a reunion with the playmaker at turn of the year.
However, a deal could be difficult to finalise. The Blaugrana are planning an initial loan approach with an option to buy next summer.
United are expected to reject the proposal. The hierarchy want to recoup the £35m fee paid for Van de Beek in a straight-cash deal.
Van de Beek has been axed from the Dutch team recently, and he needs to be playing to make the World Cup squad next winter.
