Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has rejected advances from Manchester United to join Real Madrid this summer.
The German has decided to leave the Blues at the end of his contract on June 30. Madrid are in pole position to sign him.
Los Blancos are close to finalising a four-year deal with the centre-back, but it appears that United were also in the mix.
According to Patrick Berger, United made the best offer to Rudiger (€10m per year), but he had no desire to join them.
Out of respect for the Blues, the 29-year-old does not want to play for another Premier League rival in the future.
Rudiger has been watched by Real Madrid several times, and they were recently impressed by his showing against them.
The German excelled during both legs of the Champions League quarter-final tie. He was the stand-out at the Bernabeu.
