Chelsea have emerged as potential contenders to sign Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar during the summer transfer window.
The Slovakia international has been a key player for the Nerazzurri this season, playing in 34 of their 37 Serie A matches.
Despite this, there are big doubts over his future at the club, having yet to sign a new deal beyond the summer of 2023.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter may consider selling Skriniar this summer if the contract stand-off continues.
In this case, a number of Premier League clubs are keeping tabs on him including Chelsea, who are long-term admirers.
This will force them to spend in the transfer market after the takeover. Sevilla’s Jules Kounde is the prime target.
However, they could be tempted to pursue another central defender. Skriniar could be available for a knockdown price.
He was valued at over £60 million in the past, but could be sold for significantly less with his contract expiring next year.
