Koulibaly rules out Manchester United move

Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly has ruled out a potential move to Manchester United in the future.

The Senegal international has been linked with the Red Devils on numerous occasions in the past, but a deal has never materialised.

United were prepared to pay around £95m for his services two years ago, but Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis snubbed the offer.

The 30-year-old remains content with the proceedings in Naples, but he could leave them in the future with his contract expiring in June 2023.

In an interview with Arena Napoli, Koulibaly was asked about clubs that he would prefer to join in the future. United were not on the list.

“If I decided to leave Napoli, I would only do it for two, maximum three clubs in the world. I’m talking about Guardiola’s Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona at the most,” he said.

The defender has entered the back end of his playing career, but he still continues to remain in demand among elite European clubs.

Newcastle United have been linked with him after their big-money takeover, but judging by his comments, he appears set to reject them.
