Manchester United are reportedly planning a shock approach to sign Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante this summer.
The Frenchman has been with the Blues for six seasons, where he has established himself as one of the world’s best defensive midfielders.
Despite this, there has recently been uncertainty surrounding his future, and The Mirror claims that the Red Devils are lining up a shock transfer offer.
Incoming United boss Erik ten Hag believes Kante has plenty to offer in terms of ability and experience despite showing signs of regression this term.
Kante has been struggling with minor niggles over the past 18 months. This season, he has also been prone to being dispossessed in the lead up to goals.
Hence, the World Cup winner is not playing at the peak of his powers, but United may still find it hard to convince the Blues to sanction his exit.
Kante’s current deal with the Blues expires at the end of next season, and reports claim that the London club are likely to discuss a suitable renewal.
